About Us

Leading and Learning

The Suffolk County High School Principals Association (SCHSPA) serves as a professional network for High School Principals across Suffolk County, New York, focusing on enhancing educational opportunities and student success. Suffolk County is home to over 60 public high school districts, a number that reflects the county's vast size and diverse population of approximately 1.5 million people. This expansive network of schools includes a wide range of sizes. Some of the largest districts, such as those in Brentwood and Sachem, serve thousands of students, with high school populations often exceeding 2,000 students. In contrast, many smaller, more rural districts on the East End of the county have high school populations of just a few hundred students. High school principals in Suffolk County face a diverse set of challenges and opportunities, from managing large-scale operations and resources to fostering close-knit, community-oriented educational environments. This varied landscape underscores the importance of the SCHSPA in providing a platform for shared experiences and collaborative problem-solving among educational leaders.
